These Terms govern your use of RentClaw. By using RentClaw, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What RentClaw Is

RentClaw is a self-help document preparation tool for California renters working through security deposit questions. RentClaw helps organize your answers, dates, deductions, evidence, and a downloadable Recovery Packet PDF.

Not Legal Advice

RentClaw is not a law firm, is not a substitute for an attorney, and does not provide legal advice, legal representation, legal opinions, or legal strategy. Use of RentClaw does not create an attorney-client relationship. For advice about your specific situation, consult a licensed California attorney.

No Outcome Guarantees

RentClaw cannot promise, predict, or guarantee any result, refund, recovery, settlement, response, or legal outcome. Materials are based on the information you provide and general California security deposit rules. You are responsible for reviewing all materials before using them.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge.
• Review and edit any generated packet before sending it.
• Decide whether, when, and how to send any materials.
• Keep your own copies of documents, evidence, and correspondence.
• Use RentClaw only for lawful purposes.

Payments

RentClaw may offer one-time paid unlocks for downloadable packet materials. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers. Any refund availability may depend on the applicable app store, payment provider, and consumer protection rules.

Generated Materials

RentClaw may use automated systems to format, organize, and draft self-help materials from your inputs. Generated materials may contain errors, omissions, or language that should be revised. You should review everything carefully before relying on or sending it.

California Focus

RentClaw is currently built for California security deposit workflows. It may not apply to other states, countries, leases, property types, or unusual legal situations.

Acceptable Use

You may not misuse RentClaw, attempt to disrupt the service, upload unlawful content, infringe others' rights, reverse engineer protected portions of the service, or use RentClaw to harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone.

Intellectual Property

RentClaw and its design, software, branding, and templates are owned by RentClaw or its licensors. You own the information you provide. Subject to these Terms, you may use your generated packet for your own personal self-help purposes.

Disclaimers

RentClaw is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every circumstance.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RentClaw will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above indicates when this version became effective.
